The Xieyuguan Rock Group is distributed in the Xieyuguan area in Meixian of Shaanxi Province and the Erlangping Group in the border zone between Shaanxi and Henan Provinces. Both the groups are situated in different tectonic masses, which are attributed to the same tectonic zone at the north side of Paleoproterozoic upheaval, and they are dated the same period between 523~948 Ma. They have prominent differences in rock association and tectonic settings. The Xieyuguan Rock Group should be very important in research and probing into the tectonic framework and the geology evolution of lithology in the northern Qinling.
