The occurrence and distribution of gold in the Baishan gold mine, Jilin Province, were studied in detail by means of a senior optical microscope, chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction phase analysis, electron microprobe analysis, scanning electron microscopy, etc. in this paper. The conclusions are drawn as follows: the main type of mineral ores is the silicated and structural breccia. Aurum occurs as natural gold, silver-bearing natural gold and electrum, and quartz is the major gold carrier. The gold minerals have high contents of (Au/Au+Ag); which suggests the deposit could be formed under moderate to high temperature conditions.
