The Shaziqing Formation at its type locality at the east bank of the Erhai, Dali ancient city, Yunnan bears following conodonts: Scaliognathus anchoralis, Gnathodus typicus, Gnathodus cf. girtyi and Lochriea cf. nodosa. This conodont fauna clearly indicates that the Shaziqing Formation is Tournaisian in age. One conodont sample collected near the Dajianpang from which a conodont fauna, including Lochriea ziegleri, Gnathodus cantabricus, Gnathodus bilineatus remus and Gnathodus bilineatus romulus, was founded, proves that the Serpukhovian strata is present in the East bank of the Erhai, Dali, Yunnan Province.
