///According to direct shear test and repeatedly shear test of reconstituted soil in slide zone under varied level of moisture contents, the stress-strain relationship of the soil in the slide zone showed a strain-softening phenomenon when water content was less than the plastic limit, the stress-strain relationship was at the critical state under the plastic limit and demonstrated the properties of strain-hardening with further increasement of the moisture content; the cohesion had a negative exponential relation with the moisture content and the friction coefficient was of negative linear correlation with the moisture content. The and results offered in the paper will be useful in the stability evaluation and optimization design of preventive measures for typical landslides.
