Based on red corundum deposit samples from Tanzania, according to the observation of macroeconomic and polarizing microscope, the analysis of XRD, infrared spectrometry and EDS, the main minerals in ruby deposit are red corundum ( 8% ) , zoisite ( 69% ) , omphacite ( 14% ) and pargasite ( 5% ). Minor minerals are pyrope, chrome ceylonite, plagioclase and calcite (total content about 4% ). The omphacite, pyrope, zoisite and pargasite have a high content of A1 and Cr. The main reason of green color of zoisite may be the existence of Cr. The rock or mineral of red corundum deposit can be used for decoration, collection, and gallery, with great market potential.
