Abundant Microbially Induced Sedimentary Structures (MISS) were preserved in the Ruyang Group of Lushan, Western Henan Province. They formed by the combining action of the microbial mat (or microbial film) with some kinds of physical actions such as denudation, sedimentation, transportation and deformation. Based on the description and the macro-analysis on the MISS features, the authors discuss the relation between MISS and sedimentary environment. It is considered that the evolution of the MISS is consistent with the sedimentary environments. The morphological features of the MISS have a close relation to the thickness of microbial mat and their frequent exposure.
