Coal strata of Hubei Province mainly lies in Liangshan coal of the Middle Permian, Longtan coal of Upper Permian and Xiangxi coal of the Upper Triassic-Lower Jurassic. Liangshan coal and Longtan coal are mainly distributed in counties (cities) of the southeastern and southwestern Hubei Province. On the basis of mainly coal series, coal seam distribution law and distribution characteristics of rich coal belt, combined with status quo of the geological exploration of coal resources in Hubei Province, the recommendations of the coal geological exploration are proposed.
