The fundamental mode of Rayleigh surface wave can be used in surface wave explanation. High mode composition is the disturbance in the construction of frequency dispersion curve, which may be composed of fundamental mode. Based on the apparent velocity difference between high mode and fundamental mode waves, the separation of high mode Rayleigh surface wave by r-p transformation is studied. The method has been successful applied to two theoratical geology constructions with massive energy of high mode wave, and i- deal fundamental mode frequency dispersion curve. The r-p transformation method has also been applied to the field data from the construction with soft intercalary. The method is effective with good application.
