The linear structure in a remote-sensing image refers to continuous and discontinuous linear image. It is related to certain geological processes or controlled by specific geological structure and often presented in imaginary with special topographic features and colors. The characteristics of its development and general special distribution convey important geological information. TM interpretation of the Xietongmen Au-Cu deposits is used to analyze the length, azimuth, frequency of the linear structure. The study results show that the EW, NE, SN and NNE linear structures are well developed in the area. The dominant azimuth and spatial distribution rule of the linear structure provides the bases for the studies of regional tectonic patterns and ore-control relations.
