Quaternary biogas exploration is a global question. Since there are special geological characteristics of weak diagenesis, thin sand and mud interbed, and biogas show, as well as abnormal seismic data, how to detect Quaternary biogas is difficult in Sanhu region, Qaidam Basin. Based on integration of special geology and abnormal seismic features, energy weighted instantaneous frequency is a valid method to predict lithologic biogas pool in Sanhu area. This valid method proved by drilled well would make a significant contribution to predict biogas pool in Sanhu area.
