Early Precambrian complex in North Chaoyang area, Liaoning consists mainly of supracrustal rock sequence of metamorphic volcanic rock, volcaniclastic rock and related sedimentary rock series. These supracrustal rock sequence and paleopluton experienced high-grade amphibolite facies metamorphism. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb isotopic dating reveals that the volcanic protolith of garnet plagioclase amphibolite(sample CY004-3)erupted at 2 513~2 520 Ma and was metamorphosed at 2 447 Ma, and the volcanic protolith of garnet diopside plagioclase amphibolite (CY006-6)erupted at 2 481~2 568 Ma, which shows also 2 400 Ma metamorphic age. A metamorphic monzogranitic dyke that cuts the metamorphic layered rock series in the supracrutal rock sequence in the small angle is also dated and yields magma emplaced age of 2 496~2 501 Ma, which suggests the metamorphic supracrustal rock sequence formed before 2 500 Ma. Some paleoplutons, emplaced into the supracrustal rock sequence, sign an important magmatic event in the Early Paleoproterozoic era. A garnet pyroxene plagioclase amphibolite(sample CY004-4)has its protolith of gabbro, and yields a magmatic crystallization age of 2 394 Ma and also preserves a metamorphic age of 2 354 Ma. A biotite hornblende plagioclase gneiss (sample CY005-1)has its protolith of quartz diorite, and yields a magma crystallization age of 2 403 Ma. Metamorphic gabbroic diabase(sample CY014-1)gives its magma crystalline age of 2 399~2 404 Ma. The supracrustal rock series were metamorphosed in the high-grade amphibolite facies during Paleoproterozoic era(2 350~2 460 Ma), which are synchronous with the emplacement of the Paleoproterozoic paleoplutons. These zircon U-Pb isotopic dating results reveal that a large scale volcanic eruption of mafic magma occurred at the end of the Archean, and main metamorphism in the high-grade amphibolite facies and synchronous plutonism occurred at Paleoproterozoic era(2 350~2 460Ma).
